Scores TD despite limited workload
Johnson ran for 19 yards on three carries and caught both of his targets for 34 receiving yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 23-17 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: The 2016 All-Pro back has been relegated to a part-time role since the arrival of Kenyan Drake, collecting a surprisingly slim workload of 5.7 offensive touches per game since Week 10. Prior to Drake's Cardinals debut Oct. 31, Johnson had averaged 17.7 combined rush attempts and receptions per game. With most leagues in the midst of the fantasy playoffs, Johnson is hard to trust, even going up against a Cleveland defense in Week 15 that allows nearly 4.8 yards per carry to opposing running…read more

Six touches in loss
Johnson carried the ball four times for 15 yards and caught both his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Rams,
Analysis: Kenyan Drake saw 15 touches to Johnson's six on the afternoon while Chase Edmonds got zero, so the pecking order in the Cards' backfield doesn't seem to have changed coming out of the team's bye. Johnson' inability to break a big play with his limited workload doesn't make a good argument for more action, but the whole offense struggled in this one. He'll likely handle No. 2 duties again next week against a stingy Steelers defense.

Has unknown role
Johnson has an undetermined role in the Cardinals offense as the team prepares for a Week 13 matchup with the Rams, Kyle Odegard of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Kenyan Drake has usurped the No. 1 spot on the depth chart since arriving in Arizona from Miami prior to Week 9. In three contests before the Cardinals' Week 12 bye, Drake totaled 41 carries and 16 catches. Meanwhile, Johnson was active twice during that span, but all six of his touches occurred Week 10. Adding another variable to the equation is the potential return of Chase Edmonds (hamstring), who practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday. Drake appears to be the only known quantity in…read more

Zero touches in Sunday's loss
Johnson failed to touch the ball in Sunday's 36-26 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Coach Kliff Kingsbury suggested during the week he would use a backfield committee Sunday, but it turned out to be a committee of one as Kenyan Drake turned 22 touches into 80 scrimmage yards. It's not clear whether Johnson's lack of use was due to strategy, him still not being 100 percent or some other reason, but his relegation to a backup role since the acquisition of Drake is a serious concern to anyone with fantasy shares in the RB. The Cards will be on bye Week 12, and Chase Edmonds…read more

Part of 'committee' with Drake
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said after Friday's practice that Johnson will be included in a "committee" at running back with Kenyan Drake during Sunday's game against the 49ers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The absence of Chase Edmonds (hamstring) at least spares Johnson and Drake of another potential threat, but both backs may struggle to deliver useful fantasy production while sharing work against a stout 49ers defense. Though Drake appeared to be working with the first-team offense in the portion of practice Friday that was open to the media, Kingsbury declined to name a starter and said both backs would have distinct packages in Sunday's game. May be No. 2 back
Johnson appeared to be taking reps with the Cardinals' second-team offense during Friday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Though Johnson hasn't appeared on the Cardinals' Week 11 injury report, his performance in last week's loss to the Buccaneers suggested he was still slowed by the ankle injury that kept him sidelined for the previous two contests. Johnson played only 43 percent of the offensive snaps against Tampa Bay, logging five carries for two yards and one reception for eight yards. Meanwhile, Kenyan Drake -- who was spotted taking the first-team reps Friday -- paced the Arizona backfield with a 64 percent…read more

Gets benched Sunday
Johnson was benched by coach Kilff Kingsbury for the fourth quarter of Sunday's 30-27 loss at Tampa Bay in favor of Kenyan Drake, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With Chase Edmonds (hamstring) sidelined, Johnson and Drake were expected to split the RB reps in some way, shape or form in Week 10. Having said that, Johnson didn't see the field at all after his fumble late in the third quarter, seeing 43 percent of the offensive snaps to Drake's 64 percent. Consequently, Johnson accumulated six touches and 10 yards from scrimmage to Drake's 16 and 41, respectively. Light workload in return
Johnson carried five times for two yards and brought in his only target for eight yards in the Cardinals' 30-27 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Johnson was making his return from what was essentially a three-game absence due to an ankle sprain, and his late third-quarter fumble after a reception led to a tie-breaking field goal by Matt Gay. As his final line corroborates, Johnson's workload was exceedingly light, partly a function of having to share snaps with the recently-arrived Kenyan Drake, who outpaced Johnson by five carries and six targets. Geared up for return
Johnson (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay, while fellow running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) has been ruled out, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: The dread of a potential three-way split will have to wait at least one more week and probably longer, but Johnson does have Kenyan Drake competing for touches after the former Dolphin blew up for 162 scrimmage yards last Thursday against the 49ers. The matchup with Tampa's run-stuffing, pass-funnel defense represents another problem, though Johnson has the requisite athleticism and pass-catching ability to overcome both of these obstacles.

Johnson (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Johnson looks on track to play Sunday against the Buccaneers after missing Arizona's last two games due to a lingering ankle issue. With Chase Edmonds (hamstring) not practicing to begin the week, Johnson and newcomer Kenyan Drake appear primed to serve as Arizona's top backfield options in Week 10. Expects to play versus Bucs
Johnson (ankle) said Wednesday that he's "definitely playing" against the Buccaneers this weekend, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Johnson also affirmed that he's back to 100 percent health after a two-game absence. Before the Cardinals clear Johnson for Week 10, they'll see how he fares in practices Wednesday through Friday. Given how well Kenyan Drake performed in his Cardinals debut in last Thursday's loss to the 49ers, Johnson isn't a safe bet to immediate take back the lion's share of backfield snaps if cleared to play against the Bucs.

Expected back Week 10
Johnson (ankle) is expected to return to action in the Cardinals' Week 10 game against the Buccaneers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson was inactive for the second straight game in Thursday's 28-25 loss to the 49ers but he may have had a legitimate shot at suiting up if the Cardinals hadn't faced a quick turnaround in Week 9. The team's decision to release fellow running back Alfred Morris on Friday supports the notion that Johnson's ankle issue is being viewed as a day-to-day matter, but the 27-year-old will still need to demonstrate progress in practices next week before his availability for the game in Tampa Bay is…read more

Johnson (ankle) is listed as inactive Thursday against the 49ers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson is missing his second game in a row due to a lingering ankle issue, but on this occasion he'll be joined by his direct backup Chase Edmonds (hamstring). Consequently, the Cardinals are expected to roll with a running back by committee of Kenyan Drake, Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris.

Unlikely to suit up for TNF
Johnson (ankle) is not expected to play Thursday against the 49ers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Johnson heads into the Week 9 matchup with a questionable tag after sitting out practice early in the week but returning on a very limited basis Wednesday. With Johnson presumed out and backfield mate Chase Edmonds (hamstring) sidelined as well, look for the newly-acquired Kenyan Drake to potentially have an immediate role, with Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris both on hand as well. After an extended break, Johnson's next chance to suit up will be a Nov. 10 road matchup against Tampa Bay.

Questionable for Thursday
Johnson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the 49ers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson practiced Wednesday for the first time since Oct. 18, a span in which he managed three offensive snaps Week 7 before sitting out Week 8. With a limited session under his belt, he appears to have tested out his ankle injury, but his availability for Thursday won't be determined until 90 minutes before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. The Cardinals have already ruled out Chase Edmonds (hamstring), so the remaining backfield options are Kenyan Drake, Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris.

Present at practice Wednesday
Johnson (ankle) was spotted at Wednesday's practice, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: If Johnson indeed takes part in the session, it'll mark his first activity on the practice field since Oct. 18. Because coach Kliff Kingsbury considers Johnson day-to-day, there's a chance the running back will be available Thursday against the 49ers, which will be clarified upon the release of Wednesday's injury report. Otherwise, Kenyan Drake, Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris are the candidates to produce out of the Cardinals' backfield with Chase Edmonds (hamstring) in recovery mode.

Johnson (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Coach Kilff Kingsbury reported earlier Monday that Johnson is day-to-day. The Cardinals didn't hold an actual practice Monday, but Johnson would've stayed on the sidelines if they did. That supports the notion that Johnson won't suit up for Thursday's prime-time game against the 49ers, but he still has two more practices to record practice reps. Labeled day-to-day
Coach Kliff Kingsbury deemed Johnson (ankle) day-to-day in advance of Thursday's game against the 49ers, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Kingsbury offered more optimism about Johnson's chances of playing in Week 9 than he did Chase Edmonds (hamstring), whom he labeled as doubtful, but it's more likely than not that Arizona will be without both of its top two backs versus San Francisco. In response to its depleted backfield, Arizona acquired Kenyan Drake on Monday, and it's possible the ex-Dolphin could be pressed into a lead role in his team debut. New face in depleted backfield
Johnson (ankle) and Chase Edmonds (hamstring) both seem likely to miss Thursday night's game against the 49ers, potentially putting the newly acquired Kenyan Drake in line to start, ESPN's Cameron Wolfe reports.
Analysis: With that context in mind, it's not surprising that the Cardinals have reached an agreement in principle to acquire Drake from the Dolphins. Unless things surprisingly improve in a hurry for either Johnson or Edmonds, it looks like Drake could handle a key role in Arizona's Week 9 backfield.

Johnson (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday in New Orleans, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Unlike a week ago, when Johnson suited up but played just three offensive snaps, the Cardinals won't use subterfuge with their top skill-position player this time around. On Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Johnson likely will sit out Thursday against the 49ers as well, giving Chase Edmonds two more chances to lead this backfield. Analysis: The 27-year-old is listed as questionable and was expected to be a game-time decision, but it doesn't look as though he'll be able to play Week 8. More worryingly, Schefter suggests Johnson also won't be able to play Thursday versus the 49ers. Johnson didn't participate in any practice sessions this week, but Kingsbury did say the 27-year-old knows the offense well enough to allow for a game appearance without any practice. Likely game-time decision again
GM Steve Keim said Friday morning that Johnson (ankle) will likely be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Saints, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson was a game-time decision last week and was able to take the field, but he was limited to just three snaps and one carry. He'll have a chance to take the field again this week, but he missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, so it's likely he still won't be back to 100 percent come Sunday. Not on field Thursday
Johnson (ankle) wasn't seen on the field during the part of Thursday's practice open to the media, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Johnson's likely lack of reps in the first two sessions of Week 8 prep is putting him behind the eight ball and giving backup Chase Edmonds another chance to be the lead back. In his first opportunity in that role this past Sunday versus the Giants, Edmonds reeled off 150 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs on 29 touches. Johnson (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Prior to the session, coach Kliff Kingsbury said Johnson wouldn't participate, and while he didn't provide a reason, the culprit was believed to be the running back's ankle injury. The Cardinals' first Week 8 practice report confirmed as much, so his status again will be one to watch due to the trickle-down effect it'll have on the rest of the backfield. Johnson carried the ball 12 times for 34 yards and a touchdown and caught six of eight targets for 68 yards and a second TD in Sunday's 34-33 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: While he came into the game nursing a sore back and once again ceded some touches to Chase Edmonds, Johnson still had a hugely productive afternoon, topping 100 scrimmage yards for the third straight week and fourth time this season. He continues to be one of Kyler Murray's favorite options through the air, tying Larry Fitzgerald for the team lead in catches and targets, and Johnson figures to put up big numbers again in Week 7 against a vulnerable Giants defense.

Analysis: While there may be some disagreement about the plan, it's at least become clear Johnson is trending in the right direction. He returned to practice Friday after sitting out the previous two days. The Cardinals presumably will list Johnson as questionable on their final injury report.

Resumes practicing
Johnson (back) returned to practice Friday, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: While the extent of his participation is uncertain, Johnson's return to practice in any capacity should give him a shot to play Sunday against the Falcons. An absence would leave the lead backfield role in Chase Edmonds' hands, with D.J. Foster providing depth.

Reason for optimism
GM Steve Keim said he was "encouraged" by Johnson's progress as as he goes through the rehab process with his back injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson did not log any official practice work the last couple days, but Keim's comments at least provide some reason to be optimistic about his availability for Week 6. Johnson's status will be updated further when it is revealed whether or not he was able to get in any reps at Friday's practice.

No practice reps Thursday
Johnson (back) didn't practice Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Johnson followed a similar script to Wednesday, when he worked out with team trainers on the side but otherwise was a spectator for on-field drills. He has one more chance to make his presence felt at practice this week before the Cardinals are required to put an estimate on his availability for Sunday's game versus the Falcons. Chase Edmonds is the next player up in Arizona's backfield.

Continues to work on side
Johnson (back) worked with the training staff on the side in the part of Thursday's practice open to the media, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Johnson did the same thing Wednesday en route to a DNP, but the Cardinals' second Week 6 injury report will reveal if the running back was able to participate in some on-field drills. In any case, Johnson's back injury is restricting his reps and potentially opening the door for backup RB Chase Edmonds to receive a larger workload Sunday against the Falcons.

Doesn't practice Wednesday
Johnson (back) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Instead, Johnson was contained to working out on a side field, per Scott Bordow of The Athletic. The Cardinals are keeping close tabs on Johnson, who racked up 20 touches for 156 yards from scrimmage while playing through a back injury Week 5 in Cincinnati. Considering he's touched the rock at least 17 times in four of five games this season, he may remain out of practice this week to avoid any unnecessary setback with his health. Johnson is backed up by 2018 fourth-rounder Chase Edmonds.

Works on side Wednesday
Johnson (back) worked out on the side during the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Prior to the session, coach Kliff Kingsbury told Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site, "We're going to try to work him in today and see where it goes. We like the progress he's made. Hopefully that continues this week." Johnson played through what Kingsbury termed a "bad back" in Sunday's win at Cincinnati but still notched 156 yards from scrimmage on 20 touches. Week 6 status uncertain
Coach Kliff Kingsbury indicated Johnson (back) isn't guaranteed to be available for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson had the back issue surface during Sunday's win over the Bengals, though he played through the injury and remained in the game through the Cardinals' final drive. The 27-year-old's potential availability should receive additional clarity when Arizona retakes the practice field Wednesday.

Plays through back injury
Coach Kliff Kingsbury told Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site that Johnson played through a "bad back" during Sunday's 26-23 win at Cincinnati. Despite the injury, Johnson finished with 17 carries for 91 yards and three catches (on five targets) for 65 yards
Analysis: Johnson hasn't reached the end zone since Week 3, a span of two games, but Sunday's performance marked his third of the season with at least 130 yards from scrimmage. He did all that while sharing backfield reps with backup Chase Edmonds, who turned 11 touches into 86 scrimmage yards and one TD. With added context from Kingsbury following the contest, Johnson likely yielded reps to Edmonds due to the back issue, which will be something to watch as the Cardinals prepare for a Week 6 matchup with…read more

Tops 150 scrimmage yards
Johnson carried the ball 17 times for 91 yards and caught three of five targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: The rushing yards and total scrimmage yards were both season highs for Johnson, but he also found himself sharing the backfield workload with Chase Edmonds, who turned 11 touches into 86 yards and a TD. The extra focus on the RBs might have been due to the Cardinals' injuries at wide receiver, but Johnson will see a big share of the action even if the game plan shifts back to attacking through the air.

Huge Week 4 outing as pass catcher
Johnson ran for 40 yards on 11 carries and caught eight of 11 targets for 99 receiving yards during Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: The versatile centerpiece paced all players in receiving during the NFC West showdown against Seattle and led Arizona in the category for the first time since Week 10 of last season. Johnson's 3.7 yards-per-carry average is only marginal improvement from his 3.6 yards-per-attempt clip of a year ago, as the Cardinals' offensive line remains well below average from a personnel standpoint. Finds end zone in loss
Johnson carried the ball 11 times for 37 yards and caught six of nine targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: His three-yard TD grab early in the third quarter gave the Cards a brief 17-14 lead, but the game was almost all Panthers the rest of the way. Johnson once again struggled to find much running room behind Arizona's woeful offensive line, but he's managed to reach the end zone in every game so far and remains a key part of Kliff Kingsbury's offense, getting 17 targets so far in addition to his 36 carries.

No designation, but wears brace Friday
While Johnson doesn't have a listing on the Cardinals' final Week 3 injury report, he was wearing a brace on his left wrist at Friday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Johnson missed a stretch of Week 2 action to have the wrist examined but returned and handled 60 percent of the offensive snaps by game's end. He also scored his first rushing touchdown of the season but otherwise managed just 14 yards from scrimmage on eight touches. Johnson (wrist) practiced in full Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson left Sunday's game at Baltimore with an injury to his left wrist, which is the same one that suffered a season-ending dislocation Week 1 of the 2017 campaign. He was able to return and handle 60 percent of the offensive snaps, yielding the rest to backup Chase Edmonds. Says wrist is 'good to go'
Johnson said after Sunday's 23-17 loss at Baltimore that his left wrist is "good" and he's "good to go," Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. "It's a big relief because I definitely don't want that to happen again," Johnson told Bob McManaman and Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. "I was a little nervous, but once I calmed down I realized it wasn't bad."
Analysis: As he intimated, Johnson suffered a scare in the first half Sunday, favoring his left wrist after landing awkwardly and missing an entire series. While he was able to return, he yielded offensive snaps to backup Chase Edmonds (36 versus 24) and managed just 14 yards from scrimmage and a TD on eight touches. Considering Johnson finished out the contest with no issue, he should be fine moving forward, but it'll be interesting to see if his practice reps are impacted at all during Week 3 prep.

Returns to field for touchdown
Johnson finished Sunday's 23-17 loss to Baltimore with 14 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and a catch for no yardage.
Analysis: Johnson got Arizona its only touchdown early in the fourth quarter, taking the handoff on a fake shovel pass in for a one-yard plunge. He exited the game early with a wrist injury but returned in time for the score. Johnson has two touchdowns through two weeks, despite yielding a number of snaps to Chase Edmonds on Sunday. The Cardinals' pass-centric approach will be worth monitoring, though it's quite possible that Arizona went with such a strategy due to Johnson's lack of availability.

Johnson is questionable to return to Sunday's game at Baltimore due to a wrist injury.
Analysis: Johnson appeared to injure his left wrist on a first-quarter carry. Totals 137 scrimmage yards
Johnson carried 18 times for 82 yards and caught five of seven targets for 55 yards with a touchdown during Sunday's 27-27 tie with the Lions.
Analysis: Johnson was contained early, along with the rest of a Cardinals offense that totaled just 53 yards in the first half. He hit his stride in the final two periods, however, and finished with an impressive 137 scrimmage yards against a respectable Lions defense. Johnson's receiving touchdown was a thing of beauty, as he ran down the seam and outleaped a defender to snare the ball in the end zone. Improves in preseason Week 3
Johnson carried the ball nine times for 34 yards in the team's third preseason game against the Vikings on Saturday. He also added two receptions for seven yards.
Analysis: Johnson didn't do anything particularly impressive but accomplished enough to improve upon his first two exhibitions in Kliff Kingsbury's offensive system. His longest gain came on the final play of the first quarter, when he rushed the ball for 12 yards. More positively, the Cardinals offense was more effective as a whole, creating some optimism that Johnson can return to his dynamic form as both a receiver and rusher out of the backfield.

Bottled up in preseason loss
Johnson ran for six yards on four carries and lost three yards on a reception during Thursday's 33-26 loss to Oakland.
Analysis: On paper, the combination of Johnson and rookie quarterback Kyler Murray should be tantalizing, with Murray's rushing threat potentially opening up lanes for Johnson. That wasn't the case Thursday as Murray was often knocked off his mark and Johnson was smothered for losses on two of his five touches. It's a new offense and new quarterback in Arizona, so it might take a bit to work out the kinks. Optimistic about Kingsbury's scheme
Johnson is excited to work out of shotgun formations in new coach Kliff Kingsbury's offense, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. "I actually love that," Johnson said. "I did that in college. That's all we did in college is the gun, a read-option-type thing. I think it really opens up more space for me and makes me able to read the defense a little bit more."
Analysis: Johnson won't be a forgotten player during draft season, but his lackluster showing in 2018 (3.6 yards per carry, just five games with 100-plus yards from scrimmage) and a lost campaign in 2017 could make him a bargain. As mentioned, his experience with Kingsbury's favored scheme may help him harken back to his 2016 breakout, when he cranked out 2,118 scrimmage yards and 20 total touchdowns. Seeking to bounce back
Johnson will be looking to bounce back under a new coaching staff in 2019, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: During Steve Wilks' one-year run as the head coach in Arizona, the Cardinals cycled through Mike McCoy and Byron Leftwich at offensive coordinator, but neither helped Johnson return to form after a lost season in 2017 due to a dislocated left wrist. Overall, Johnson managed just five outings with 100-plus yards from scrimmage and earned five or more targets on six occasions last year after racking up 15 and 14, respectively, during the course of his 2016 breakout. Contained by Seahawks front seven
Johnson rushed for 62 yards on 17 carries during Sunday's 27-24 loss to Seattle. He also caught three of his four targets, managing six receiving yards on the afternoon.
Analysis: Johnson has been tremendously inefficient as a rusher of late, never exceeding 3.7 yards per carry over any of his past six starts and accounting for just two total touchdowns on 134 touches since Week 11. Following a 2017 season lost to a wrist injury, he's been as durable as any back in the league throughout this 2018 season by averaging a robust 16.1 attempts per game, while fielding north of 300 offensive touches for the second time in his career. Salvages day with receiving score
Johnson rushed 10 times for just 35 yards but brought in one of five targets for a 32-yard touchdown reception in the Cardinals' 31-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday.
Analysis: As his final numbers implied, Johnson couldn't get much of anything going on the ground, but a 32-yard touchdown reception on a throw off the arm of Larry Fitzgerald in the second quarter prevented his fantasy day from being a total washout. A 2018 season that held great promise as a comeback year for Johnson is finishing on a down note, as he's now failed to eclipse 3.7 yards per carry in five consecutive games and has scored just once over that span. Johnson rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries during Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Falcons. He added 68 yards on three catches.
Analysis: Sunday started about as well as you could have hoped for Johnson. Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen hit him for gains of 40 and 15 yards during the Cardinals' opening drive before Johnson punched it in from one yard out, breaking a four-game scoreless streak. Good to go
Johnson (quad) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson returned to a limited practice Thursday and upgraded to full participation Friday. He's ready for his usual busy role against a leaky Atlanta defense that's allowed a league-high 97 receptions to running back, not to mention 4.8 yards per carry and 15 total touchdowns. Of course, Johnson managed just 61 scrimmage yards last week in a favorable home matchup with the Lions.

Puts in limited practice
Johnson (quadriceps) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: The Cardinals withheld Johnson from Wednesday's session with the quad issue, but coach Steve Wilks said afterward that he expected the running back to suit up Sunday in Atlanta. Johnson's return to practice a day later, albeit in a limited capacity, seemingly supports Wilks' optimism. Johnson would put to rest any concern about his Week 15 availability by practicing fully Friday, but even another limited showing would have him trending in the right direction.

Johnson was held out of practice Wednesday with a quadriceps injury but coach Steve Wilks expects the running back to play in Sunday's game at Atlanta, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Johnson handled his usual workload in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Lions, taking 15 carries for 49 yards and eight receptions for 12 yards while handling his largest snap share (89 percent) since Week 6. Shut down by Lions
Johnson rushed 15 times for 49 yards and caught eight of 10 targets for 12 yards during Sunday's 17-3 loss to Detroit. He fumbled once, but it was recovered.
Analysis: The Lions were well prepared to defend the dual-threat running back on a Josh Rosen-led offense that doesn't pose much of a threat through the air. While the Lions have done well against opposing running backs ever since defensive tackle Damon Harrison came to town, Johnson still disappointed his fantasy owners with just 3.3 yards per carry -- especially since he's now averaged over four yards per attempt in three of 13 games this season. Has two potential scores vultured
Johnson garnered 69 yards on 20 carries and added a 3-yard catch on two targets in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Packers.
Analysis: All season, Johnson has been finding new ways to frustrate the fantasy owners who spent a premium pick on him. This time around, he got two scores vultured by rookie backup Chase Edmonds (six yards and eight yards), even though Johnson finished with 20 carries to Edmonds' five. A silver lining ahead of Arizona's Week 14 clash with the Lions is that Johnson's averaging a robust 23.5 touches over the past four games.

Johnson carried 17 times for 63 yards and caught two passes for an additional 13 yards during Sunday's 45-10 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Johnson averaged just 3.7 yards per carry and hardly made an impact as a receiver, halting the momentum he had built over recent weeks. The Cardinals were simply outmatched on the offensive side of the ball against a strong defense, which made matters worse by keying in on Johnson. Analysis: Johnson enjoyed his greatest rushing output since Week 5 of 2016, as he garnered a season-high 25 carries in a losing effort against the Raiders. Since Byron Leftwich assumed Arizona's offensive coordinator position in Week 8, Johnson hasn't been used with as much frequency as he was when Mike McCoy was calling the shots, but he's certainly been utilized more effectively.
