Scores 12 points in shootout
Gould went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts (30, 41) and 6-for-6 on point-after tries in Sundays 48-46 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Gould put the bow on an incredible comeback victory for San Francisco with a clutch field goal as time expired in New Orleans. This was surprisingly the first clean multi-attempt game for the veteran this season. The 36-year-old is coming off of three consecutive seasons of 95 percent or higher field-goal accuracy, but he sits at just 67 percent (16-for-24) over 10 games. Gould's drop-off may be related to injury, bad luck (two blocked kicks) or simply diminished skills in his 15th season as a…read more

Suffers blocked kick in loss
Gould (quadriceps) went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on point-after tries in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Gould returned from a three-week injury layoff and did not appear to be hampered by his quadriceps. The veteran's lone miss came from 51 yards -- he is now 0-for-4 on kicks over 50 yards -- but the kick had enough leg and only went wide due to being slightly deflected by Marlon Humphrey's finger. Gould should be considered a safe play in a dome against the Saints on Sunday.

Back in action Week 13
Gould (quadriceps) is active Sunday in Baltimore, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After practicing in full all week, Gould didn't have a designation for this contest and indeed will regain his standing as the 49ers' kicker following a three-game DNP streak. Meanwhile, he'll push Chase McLaughlin to the inactive list.

Sheds injury tag
Gould (quadriceps) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: Gould appears set to retake the field after a three-game absence. He stands to reprise his role as San Francisco's top kicker, which could make undrafted rookie Chase McLaughlin expendable.

Working without limitations
Gould (quadriceps) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After missing the last three weeks, it appears Gould is ready to resume his starting kicker role against the Ravens on Sunday. If Gould can finish the week without a setback, the 49ers may cut rookie Chase McLaughlin.

Inactive, as expected
Gould (quadriceps) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Packers.
Analysis: Gould was considered doubtful for this contest, and he'll sit out a third straight game. According to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, Gould has been kicking on a side field, so he may be near a return. Chase McLaughlin will serve as the 49ers' kicker in the meantime.

Unlikely to suit up Sunday
Gould (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Packers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Gould last took part in practice Nov. 7, missing two contests in the process. According to Wagoner, Gould was spotted kicking on a side field Friday, so he may be making some progress through his strained right quadriceps. Still, considering his status, Gould seems poised to miss a third game in a row. In the event that happens, Chase McLaughlin will serve as the 49ers kicker yet again.

Misses another practice
Gould (quadriceps) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: Gould continues to nurse a lingering quadriceps issue, and he's trending toward missing a third straight contest. Barring an unexpected step forward in Gould's recovery, Chase Mclaughlin to handle kicking duties against the Packers on Sunday.

Can't practice Wednesday
Gould (quadriceps) did not practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: Gould has missed two straight contests due to a lingering quadriceps injury, and he hasn't yet made enough progress in his recovery to resume practicing in any capacity. If the 36-year-old veteran is forced to miss more time, expect undrafted rookie Chase McLaughlin to draw another start versus the Packers on Sunday.

Status still in question
Gould's (quadriceps) status for Wednesday's practice is still uncertain, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Gould has missed the last two contests with an injury to his kicking leg, and coach Kyle Shanahan stated that his kicker may not be ready to return to practice yet. The 36-year-old has been replaced by undrafted rookie, Chase McLaughlin, who missed a crucial overtime kick against Seattle two weeks ago but has otherwise been perfect during his fill-in performance (4-for-5 on field-goal attempts and 4-for-4 on extra-point tries). Inactive again Week 11
Gould (quadriceps) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Cardinals, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Sidelined a second consecutive contest with a strained quadriceps, Gould will hand over kicking duties to Chase McLaughlin yet again. Gould's next chance to suit up is next Sunday night versus the Packers.

Unlikely to kick Week 11
Gould (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: After the quad strain sidelined him for the Monday night loss to Seattle, Gould wasn't able to resume practicing in any fashion in Week 11. The 49ers will see if he makes some progress over the next two days before ruling on Gould's status for Sunday, but barring an unexpected recovery, San Francisco will likely proceed with Chase McLaughlin as its kicker for at least one more game.

Misses another practice
Gould (quadriceps) is not present for the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: Gould sat out Monday's overtime loss to the Seahawks due to a quad strain, and he hasn't managed to practice in any capacity this week. In the event that Gould were forced to miss another contest, the 49ers would likely rely on Chase McLaughlin to handle kicking duties once again.

Not yet practicing
Gould (quadriceps) was a non-participant at practice Wednesday.

Inactive Monday
Gould (quadriceps) won't play in Monday's divisional clash against Seattle.
Analysis: Gould was considered doubtful coming into the contest, so this news shouldn't come as a surprise. Now that the veteran is officially out for the contest, newly-signed Chase McLaughlin will handle kicking duties in the divisional matchup.

Not expected to play
Gould (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Seahawks, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Unavailable Friday
Gould (quadriceps) did not practice Friday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Gould's inability to practice in any capacity Friday is a discouraging sign for his Week 10 availability, especially considering the impact leg injuries can have on kickers. Chase McLaughlin is in line to take over kicking duties if Gould cannot play, so keep an eye on the latter's status as Monday night approaches.

Week 10 status could be in danger
Gould is dealing with a quad strain that could impact his status for Monday night's game against the Seahawks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: With that in mind, the 49ers are signing fellow kicker Chase McLaughlin, a move that underlines the team's concern about Gould's Week 10 status. Given the team's Monday night kickoff, those who had been planning to use Gould in fantasy lineups this week are advised to both monitor his situation, as well as map out a contingency plan. On the plus side, Rapoport also relays that Gould's quad issue is not considered a long-term concern.

No FG attempts in win
Gould did not attempt a field goal but converted all four of his point-after tries in Thursday's 28-25 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: The 49ers did a great job of capping off their trips to the red zone, but this resulted in a quiet fantasy day for Gould. The veteran kicker has missed seven field-goal attempts through eight games (13-for-20), but he has yet to miss a PAT. Gould will hope to get called upon in a Week 10 home matchup against the Seahawks a week from Monday.

Scores nine points
Gould converted his lone field-goal attempt from 20 yards out and went 6-for-6 on point-after tries in Sunday's 51-13 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: This was surprisingly Gould's first game without a missed field-goal attempt since Week 3. The 36-year-old isn't as reliable as we have become accustomed to, but he remains a top-10 option in an era of kickers that is plagued with inconsistent and inexperienced options across the league. A soft matchup against the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football should provide ample scoring opportunities for Gould and a 49ers offense coming off their highest point total since 1993.

Provides all scoring Sunday
Gould went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts in Sunday's 9-0 win over the Redskins.
Analysis: Gould's lone miss came from 45 yards out, but a 75.0 percent conversion rate on a field that was hit hard by heavy rain should be considered a success. The 36-year-old has taken a step back from his stellar 2018 campaign, converting just 63 percent (12-for-19) of his field-goal attempts so far. Gould has garnered enough goodwill to be trusted as a starting option against the Panthers on Sunday.

Scores eight points
Gould went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and converted both of his point-after tries in Sunday's 20-7 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Gould bounced back from his ugly 1-for-4 outing last week, but he missed his third attempt at a 50-plus yard field goal. The 36-year-old hasn't looked the same in 2019 (9-for-15) after finishing last season with the best field-goal percentage in the league. Gould is still a startable option in an easy matchup against the Redskins that could provide plenty of scoring opportunities for the kicker Sunday.

Rough go of things
Gould was 1-for-4 on field-goal attempts and converted all four point-after tries in Monday's 31-3 win over the Browns.
Analysis: It was an uncharacteristically inaccurate night for the usually sure-footed Gould. In his defense, one of the misses was due in large part to a poor snap and hold, and his fourth attempt was simply blocked by the defense. Excuses aside, Gould has already missed five field-goal tries (7-for-12) after missing just once in 34 tries last season. The 49ers' offense has been clicking on all cylinders this season, so the veteran should project well against the Rams on Sunday.

Scores six points in win
Gould converted his lone field-goal attempt from 24 yards and was a perfect 3-for-3 on point-after tries in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Gould finally turned in a clean performance after missing a field goal in each of his first two games this season. One of those misses came from over 50 yards, so there is little reason to believe that the 36-year-old isn't as reliable as he has shown throughout his career. Fantasy owners will have to explore other options with the 49ers taking their bye this week, but Gould is worth grabbing for Week 5's matchup against the Browns should he be dropped this week.

Gould converted two of three field-goal attempts and all five extra points in Sunday's 41-17 win over the Bengals.

Gould (leg) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Analysis: After making a 47-yard field goal in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win at Tampa Bay, Gould limped off the field with what was termed as leg cramps. However, with a few days to recover, he's unaffected by the issue as preparations for a Week 2 visit to Cincinnati begin.

Ends standoff with four-year deal
Gould is signing a four-year, $19 million contract with the 49ers, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
Analysis: The deal includes two years and $10.5 million fully guaranteed, replacing the franchise tag that Gould refused to sign. He apparently backed off with his trade request once the 49ers offered him a contract that ranks second to only Justin Tucker's among NFL kickers. The 36-year-old made 72 of 75 field-goal attempts (96 percent) and 55 of 59 extra-point tries (93.2 percent) the past two seasons in San Francisco, finishing top 10 in kicker fantasy scoring both years.

Will not participate in minicamp
Gould has not signed his franchise tag and will not report to minicamp, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The disgruntled veteran kicker requested a trade from the 49ers, where he has spent the past two seasons, but it seems as if the team is in no rush to tend to his plea. Ideally, Gould would like to be closer to his family in Chicago, where he spent the majority of his career with the Bears. He is one of two kickers on the current roster, with the other being journeyman Jonathan Brown.

May be stuck with Niners
Coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers don't intend to honor Gould's trade request, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Gould wants to be closer to his family in Chicago, where he spent 11 seasons of his career from 2005 to 2015. It just so happens that the Bears lack a proven NFL kicker on their roster, but it sounds like the 49ers don't plan to explore a trade or rescind their franchise tag. Gould has requested a trade and no longer intends to negotiate with the 49ers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Gould sent the team proposals for a multi-year contract after he received the franchise tag in February, but he's now shifted his focus to finding a way out of San Francisco. He may be angling for a return to Chicago, where the placekicking depth chart currently features a trio of unproven players: Redford Jones, Chris Blewitt and Elliott Fry. Remains anticipated starter
General manager John Lynch said Monday that Gould "will be a part of [the 49ers] this coming year," Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Though Gould has yet to sign his franchise tag and is skipping voluntary workouts, it appears that the 49ers have no real concerns about the 36-year-old starting in 2019. Through his first two seasons in San Francisco, Gould boasts a 96 percent conversion rate on field-goal attempts and a 93.2 percent conversion rate on PATs. Gould has not signed his franchise tender and will skip voluntary offseason workouts, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: This news comes on the heels of the 49ers stamping the franchise tag on Gould on Feb. 26. Analysis: Gould becomes the first player tagged during the 2019 offseason, with his salary expected to land around $5.2 million, per overthecap.com. San Francisco presumably hopes to reduce that figure with a multi-year contract, after Gould converted 96 percent of field-goal attempts and 93.2 percent of PATs through his first two seasons with the team. The 36-year-old is now headed for a significant raise, be it through a long-term contract or a franchise tag for approximately $5 million. Analysis: Gould did all the scoring for the 49ers in a tough matchup against a stout Chicago defense. The long-time Bear upped his field-goal conversion rate to 97 percent (32 of 33), which would be the best mark of his career (minimum of 20 attempts) if the season ended today. Gould was perfect on all four of his field-goal attempts (28, 33, 36, 45) Sunday, also converting both extra-point tries in a 26-23 win over Seattle.
Analysis: The 49ers were firing on all cylinders in an impressive upset victory, resulting in Gould's biggest scoring output (14 points) this season. The veteran remains one of the most accurate legs in fantasy, but a rough matchup against Chicago looms in Week 16, which could hinder his scoring opportunities.

Scores eight points in win
Gould nailed both of his field-goal attempts (28, 40) and made both point-after tries in Sunday's 20-14 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: San Francisco's offense rebounded in a rare win, resulting in Gould's first multi-score game since Week 10. The veteran has a decent floor due to his elite accuracy (96 percent on field goals this year), and there is potential for more if the 49ers can take advantage of a middle-of-the-road Seattle defense in Week 15.

Perfect with limited usage
Gould nailed his only field-goal attempt from 45 yard and also chipped in a point-after try in Sunday's 43-16 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: The 49ers' offense posted 452 total yards, but the team fell behind early on, eliminating any potential for second-half field goals for Gould. The veteran kicker has accrued just seven points over the last two games, making him a low-end option against the Broncos on Sunday.

Misses second PAT
Gould kicked a 23-yard field goal, but missed his lone extra-point attempt in Sunday's 27-9 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: The usually accurate Gould uncharacteristically missed his second PAT of the season, and he has now missed more extra-point tries (19 of 21) than field-goal attempts (22 of 23) in 2018. The 49ers' offense sputtered under Nick Mullens in what should have been a soft matchup against the Bucs' defense, which clouds Gould's fantasy prospects for the Week 13 matchup against the Seahawks.

Strong showing Thursday
Gould nailed both of his field-goal attempts (from 25 and 39 yards) and converted all four point-after tries in Thursday's 34-3 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Gould actually would have had a third successful field goad had a defensive penalty not erased the points. The 49ers' offense showed renewed life under quarterback Nick Mullens, who was making his first NFL start. Whether it's Mullens or C.J. Beathard that receives the nod under center in Week 10, Gould could be primed for another strong performance against a reeling Giants squad.
