Lands on IR
Barr suffered a torn pectoral muscle in Sunday's loss to the Colts and has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Barr exited Week 2's loss to the Colts in the first half and was ruled out quickly. Tests have revealed that he has a season-ending injury and will be placed on IR as a result. This is a major loss to a Vikings defense that has struggled through two weeks, as Barr is an every-down player that produced a career-high 79 tackles last season. Either Ryan Connelly or Troy Dye will likely start at strong-side linebacker moving forward.

Suffers injury Sunday
Barr (shoulder) is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Colts.
Analysis: It's unclear how Barr suffered the injury, but the fact that he was immediately classified as doubtful is certainly a negative sign. As long as Barr is sidlined, Ryan Connelly and Troy Dye would be in line to see an uptick in usage.

Six tackles Sunday
Barr had six total tackles but also drew key offside penalty in Sunday's loss at Green Bay.
Analysis: Aaron Rodgers used Barr's penalty to complete a long pass on a free play. Barr had one hurry, according to Pro Football Focus, but he was unable to be disruptive in the pass rush due to Green Bay focusing on quick passes. Barr should have better stats later in the season, but he may not be able to rush the passer as frequently if the secondary continues to struggle.

Full speed ahead
Barr (undisclosed) participated in team drills during Friday's practice.
Analysis: Barr has been watching practice from the sidelines since Sunday, but he looked back to normal during Friday's session. The 28-year-old is locked into the starting strong-side linebacker role in 2020 after posting a career-high 79 tackles to go along with 1.5 sacks, four pass breakups and an interception last season.

Present, not practicing
Barr was present for Sunday's practice but did not participate, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: It remains to be seen whether Barr's absence is injury-related or simply a scheduled rest day. The veteran linebacker is primed to reprise a starting role for the Vikings this season.

Cleared to play
Barr has been activated from the Vikings' reserve/COVID-19 list.
Analysis: The 28-year-old linebacker will now be able to return to his starting role in the Vikings defense, on the heels of recording a career-high 79 tackles in 14 games for the team in 2019.

Placed on COVID-19 list
Barr has been placed on the Vikings' reserve/COVID-19 list, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Barr landing on the list means he either tested positive for COVID-19 or came into close contact with a carrier. The 28-year-old linebacker is slated to work in a starting role for the Vikings in 2020, on the heels of logging a career-high 79 tackles in 14 games for the team last season.

Career-high 79 stops
Barr recorded a career-high 79 tackles, 1.5 sacks and four pass breakups over 14 regular-season games. He also added 16 tackles over the Vikings' two playoff games.
Analysis: Barr had another outstanding season, although he missed out on a Pro Bowl bid for the first time since his rookie season in 2015. The 27-year-old is under contract for the next four seasons, and he'll carry a cap hit of $12.7 million in 2020. Barr is locked into a starting role again next year.

Reaches new career tackle mark
Barr was credited with six tackles (two solo) and a forced fumble in Monday night's 23-10 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Barr's tackle production ticked back up after a brief downturn while he played all but seven snaps in the loss. He'll look to add to the career-high 79 tackles in Week 17 against Chicago.

Tallies four tackles in win
Barr was credited with four tackles (three solo) in Sunday's win over the Chargers.
Analysis: That's back-to-back games of just four tackles for Barr. He needs just three more to break his career high of 75 set in 2017.

Racks up 11 tackles
Barr recorded 11 tackles (seven solo) in Monday's 37-30 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Barr recorded his highest tackle count of the season, with his only other double-digit day coming in Week 6 against the Eagles. With 1.5 sacks, one interception and zero forced fumbles on the year, Barr's upside appears to be limited from an IDP perspective.
