Works out with Ravens
Fackrell (undisclosed) worked out with the Ravens on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Fackrell was placed on the Raiders' injured reserve in late July but was released with an injury settlement last week. While the nature of his injury wasn't revealed, his workout with Baltimore signals that he's likely moved past the issue.

Released by Raiders
The Raiders are releasing Fackrell (undisclosed) from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Fackrell landed on injured reserve in late July and was unavailable for the preseason. He would've been forced to miss the 2022 campaign but is free to sign elsewhere as long as he can pass a physical. It's not yet clear what injury the 2016 third-rounder is dealing with.

Lands on IR
The Raiders placed Fackrell (undisclosed) on injured reserve Friday.
Analysis: Fackrell's placement on IR before roster cuts means he's ineligible to return this season, which is a big blow to the Raiders' pass-rush depth. In his absence, Clelin Ferrell and Malcolm Koonce will likely compete for a backup spot behind the dynamic duo of Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones.

Joins forces with Raiders
Fackrell signed a contract with Las Vegas on Monday.
Analysis: Fackrell joins the Raiders on a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The linebacker handled a rotational role across 13 appearances with the Chargers in 2021.

Activated from IR
Fackrell was activated off of injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: The linebacker has been out since Dec. 11 while dealing with a knee injury, and he'll return in time for the Chargers' must-win matchup with the Raiders on Sunday. In 12 games this season, Fackrell has recorded 15 tackles, three sacks, a pass deflection, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Cleared to practice
Fackrell (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Fackrell landed on IR on Dec. 11, but he returned to practice Wednesday after being designated to return. Whether he'll suit up in Sunday's Week 17 matchup against the Broncos remains to be seen.

Placed on injured reserve
Fackrell (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: After undergoing knee surgery earlier this week, Los Angeles has decided to put Fackrell on injured reserve and he will miss a minimum of three weeks. His presence will be missed as the veteran has recorded two sacks and has given the Chargers some depth at the linebacker position this season.

Unavailable Sunday
Fackrell (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Giants.
Analysis: Fackrell recently underwent knee surgery, so it isn't very surprising to see him inactive against the Giants. The Chargers haven't yet decided whether to place the linebacker on injured reserve, but the team is hopeful that his procedure isn't season-ending.

Undergoes knee procedure
Coach Brandon Staley said Wednesday that Fackrell recently had knee surgery, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Staley also said the Chargers have not yet decided if they will place Fackrell on injured reserve, as they hope the injury is not season-ending. The six-year veteran has racked up 15 tackles and three sacks as a backup linebacker this season.

Secures second sack
Fackrell picked up two tackles and a sack in Monday's 28-14 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Despite playing under 50 percent of the defensive snaps through four weeks, Fackrell now is second on the team in sacks to begin the year. Essentially a passing-down specialist since his career year with the Packers back in 2018, the 29-year-old could have some success in that role as the pass rusher opposite Joey Bosa on an emerging defensive unit.

Finds home with Chargers
Fackrell signed a contract with the Chargers on Wednesday.
Analysis: Fackrell bounced back with four sacks with the Giants in 2020, but his production was still a far cry from the 10.5-sack campaign he turned in with Green Bay back in 2018. Now with the Chargers, he'll help bolster a pass rush that's lost longtime standout Melvin Ingram to free agency.

Manages four sacks in 2020
Fackrell had 34 tackles (23 solo), four sacks, two defended passes and one interception (which he returned for a touchdown) across 12 games with the Giants in 2020.
Analysis: Fackrell started nine of 12 appearances in his inaugural season with the Giants, but his defensive role didn't translate into consistent enough fantasy numbers to warrant much IDP consideration. The 29-year-old is set to hit free agency this offseason, and he may have to settle for a depth role at his next landing spot.

Activated off IR
Fackrell (lower leg) was activated off injured reserve and will be available for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Zack Rosenblatt of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Fackrell is slated to make his first appearance since Week 12, reclaiming his starting gig at outside linebacker across from Jabaal Sheard with Carter Coughlin providing depth.

Trending toward Week 17 return
Fackrell (lower leg) is expected to return from IR and suit up against the Cowboys on Sunday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Fackrell hasn't suited up since Week 12 due to a lower leg injury, but it looks like he should be back in the starting lineup for Sunday's key divisional battle. Prior to being injured, Fackrell had put together seven straight starts at outside linebacker.

Won't be activated for Week 16
Fackrell (lower leg) is not expected to be activated for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Fackrell has been residing on injured reserve since Dec. 1, but a return to practice Wednesday provided hope for a potential Week 16 appearance. The Packers' 2016 third-round draft choice started each of his seven game outings between Weeks 5 and 12, but Carter Coughlin now stands to garner a third consecutive start at outside linebacker with Fackrell unavailable.

Returning to practice
The Giants designated Fackrell (lower leg) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Fackrell has missed his requisite three games while on IR, so he's eligible to return as early as Sunday's matchup in Baltimore. New York could also opt to take an extended look at Fackrell in practice, while targeting Week 17 versus the Cowboys as a return date. From Weeks 5 to 10, Fackrell handled a starting role in the Giants' linebacker corps.

Shifts to IR
The Giants placed Fackrell (lower leg) on injured reserve Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Fackrell suffered a lower-leg injury during this past Sunday's win over Cincinnati and will require at least three weeks of recovery. He's eligible to return in Week 16 against the Ravens. In his first season in New York, Fackrell started eight of 11 games and produced 31 tackles and three sacks. Jabaal Sheard and Cam Brown are candidates to start in Fackrell's place, although Oshane Ximines (shoulder) has been designated to return from IR and could be an option as well.

Status remains in question
Fackrell (lower leg) will have his status updated Wednesday or Thursday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Analysis: Coach Joe Judge couldn't offer much on the 28-year-old's lower leg injury, but his participation when the Giants return to practice Wednesday should provide some indication of the severity of the issue. Cam Brown likely will have an increased role if Fackrell is forced to miss time.

Day comes to end
Fackrell (calf) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against Cincinnati, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Analysis: New York will have to proceed without one of its starting outside linebackers for the remainder of the day, an additional loss at the position after Lorenzo Carter (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Oct. 19. Cam Brown likely will be elevated into a prime role for the remainder of the afternoon as a result of Fackrell's departure.

Avoids injury report
Fackrell (neck) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against Washington, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Fackrell was limited in practice due to a neck injury all week, but it doesn't look like his availability was ever in serious danger. He'll draw his usual start at linebacker versus Washington.

Active Week 5
Fackrell (neck) is active for Sunday's Week 5 tilt against the Cowboys, Dan Salmone of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The fifth-year veteran will be out there versus a high-powered Cowboys offense that's averaging 31.5 points per game over the first four weeks of the campaign. Fackrell has been productive after arriving this offseason from the Packers, posting 14 stops (11 solo) and a pair of sacks over his first four games.

Back in action Sunday
Fackrell (neck) has returned to Sunday's game against the Rams, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Fackrell was briefly examined after injuring his neck, but he's now managed to return early in the fourth quarter. If Oshane Ximines (shoulder) can't return, Fackrell could see an every-down role on defense.

Injures neck Sunday
Fackrell is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Rams due to a neck injury, Dan Salmone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: With Oshane Ximines (shoulder) also having been forced out Sunday, the Giants' outside linebacker group has been quickly depleted. Markus Golden and Lorenzo Carter could be forced to handle every-down roles.

Links up with Giants
The Giants and Fackrell came to terms on a one-year, $4.6 million contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: This marks the second Packers linebacker after Blake Martinez to head to New York in as many days. If Markus Golden moves on as an unrestricted free agent, Fackrell could get the opportunity to serve as one of the Giants' starting outside linebackers in 2020. Before Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith landed in Green Bay last offseason and bumped him down the depth chart, Fackrell showed his worth as a pass rusher in 2018, accumulating 10.5 sacks.

Finishes with one sack
Fackrell had 23 tackles (13 solo) and one sack in 16 games this season.
Analysis: The 28-year-old also added a sack during Sunday's loss to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, but he was limited to a rotational role for the entirety of the season. Fackrell essentially came out of nowhere with 10.5 sacks in 2018, but the offseason additions of Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith -- who combined for 25.5 sacks this season -- led to his lowest production since his rookie year. The selection of Rashan Gary in the first round of the 2019 draft increases the likelihood of…read more
