Finds end zone in Week 13
Hines ran the ball four times for 22 yards and touchdown in the team's Week 13 loss to the Titans. He also added two receptions for 18 yards.
Analysis: Hines saw the fewest carries out of the trio in the Colts' backfield, though he was the only one to find the end zone. He was given consecutive rushing attempts near the goal line on the team's first drive in the third quarter, first carrying the ball from down to to the one-yard line prior to scoring. He was also targeted only twice in the passing game, surprising usage given the team's lack of offensive skill-position players. Hines and the rest of the Colts' backfield will have a tough…read more

Efficient in Week 12 loss
Hines rushed nine times for 51 yards and secured two of three targets for 10 yards in the Colts' 20-17 loss to the Texans on Thursday.
Analysis: In the Colts' first game without Marlon Mack (hand) this season, Hines logged a season high in carries and parlayed it into a season-best rushing yardage tally. Hines also continued in his usual pass-catching role, so he could be poised to continue seeing extra volume if Mack also sits out a Week 13 divisional showdown with the Titans, a week from this Sunday.

Role may not change with Mack out
Coach Frank Reich said Monday that Hines will mostly remain in his usual hybrid role while Marlon Mack (hand) is sidelined, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
Analysis: Mack underwent surgery Monday to repair his fractured right hand, an injury he sustained a day earlier in the Colts' 33-13 win over the Jaguars. Despite the lead back's early departure, Hines (three carries for 11 yards, three receptions for 24 yards) didn't see a major spike in usage. Instead, Jonathan Williams (13 carries for 116 yards, one catch for 31 yards) was the main beneficiary, prompting Reich to tab him and Jordan Wilkins (ankle) as the main candidates to fill Mack's high-volume role…read more

Should see increased role
Hines carried the ball three times for 11 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Jaguars. He also added three receptions on four targets for 24 yards.
Analysis: Hines took advantage of Marlon Mack's hand injury to record his first touchdown of the season. His scamper came early in the fourth quarter, when he took a handoff for seven yards into the end zone. He tallied three rushing attempts and a target after Mack exited early in the third quarter, clearly working behind Jonathan Williams. However, with Mack already declared out for Week 12, Hines should be in line for increased work as the Colts take on the Texans on Thursday.

Seven touches in Sunday's loss
Hines had three carries for 14 yards and four receptions for 30 yards on seven targets in Sunday's loss to Miami.
Analysis: Hines saw an increase in targets with Brian Hoyer at quarterback as he didn't throw much down field. With Jordan Wilkins hurting his ankle in the game, Hines could see more snaps next week against Jacksonville, but he's still having a smaller secondary role behind starter Marlon Mack.

Just two touches Sunday
Hines had one carry for seven yards and one reception for 21 yards on three targets in Sunday's 26-24 loss at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Hines played on 20 of the offense's 70 snaps as he hasn't been a big part of the scheme the last three weeks (just five targets). He remains the top passing-down option at running back but isn't getting much playing time behind Marlon Mack.

Seven touches in Sunday's win
Hines had four carries for 12 yards and three receptions for 34 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over Denver.
Analysis: Hines played on 18 of the offense's 64 snaps and got more usage than Jordan Wilkins (six snaps). He remains the top passing-down option at running back but isn't getting much playing time behind Marlon Mack.

Minimally involved Sunday
Hines rushed once for three yards and caught one of two targets for 13 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Analysis: The 22-year-old saw only seven offensive snaps Sunday and was out-snapped by Jordan Wilkins. Hines should continue to be limited to passing-down work with Marlon Mack handling the bulk of the snaps.

Leads team with 46 receiving yards
Hines rushed two times for a loss of one yard, but hauled in four passes (five targets) for 46 receiving yards in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Chiefs.
Analysis: Marlon Mack (ankle) was able to return and handle a heavy workload, which kept Hines in a third-down back role. The 22-year-old actually led all Colts receivers in yardage on a night where the team was focused on moving the chains and controlling the ball. Mack will receive an extra week to return to full strength over the team's upcoming bye, so expect Hines to be limited to work on passing downs in Week 7's matchup against the Texans.

Steps in for injured Mack
Hines ran for six yards on three attempts and added 39 yards on six receptions during Sunday's 31-24 loss to Oakland.
Analysis: Hines enjoyed a season-high nine touches Sunday as Marlon Mack (ankle) exited the game early and did not return. With the extent of Mack's injury unclear, fans will obviously be monitoring the situation heading in to Week 5 against the Chiefs. Should Mack miss time, Hines would seem to be likely to maintain his pass-catching role with a few more carries with Jordan Wilkins slightly more established as a runner.

Notches three grabs
Hines rushed twice for three yards and brought in three of four targets for 26 yards in the Colts' 27-24 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: The backup running back saw minimal action on the ground, but his pass-catching skills were put to use as customary. Hines hasn't logged more than four carries in any of the first three games, but he already has a pair of four-target tallies over that span and notched a season high in receiving yardage Sunday. The 22-year-old will look to up his contributions at the expense of the Raiders in Week 4.

Just 14 total yards Sunday
Hines had two carries for nine yards one one reception for five yards on two targets in Sunday's win over Tennessee.
Analysis: Hines didn't get much work behind Marlon Mack, though he got more snaps on offense (13) than No. 3 running back Jordan Wilkins (10 snaps). However, Wilkins had 82 yards rushing on five carries. Hines is still the No. 2 running back, but his production will be volatile based on when he's needed in the passing game. Still, it's concerning that he has just six carries and six targets combined in the first two games with Jacoby Brissett under center.

Small workload in Week 1
Hines carried the ball four times for 13 yards and caught all four of his targets for four yards in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: The split of touches in the Colts' backfield didn't change with Jacoby Brissett under center, as Marlon Mack saw 25 carries but didn't catch a pass. Hines could find better opportunities to make an impact in the passing game later in the year, but it will likely take an injury to Mack for Hines to see a significant workload.

No running room in preseason opener
Hines carried six times for one yard and wasn't targeted in the passing game in the Colts' 24-16 preseason loss to the Bills on Thursday.
Analysis: Hines started and played the first three series with Jacoby Brissett under center, but as his final line implies, he found zero running room versus a stingy Bills front. The second-year pro entered training camp with the label of third-down back attached, following an impressive rookie season in which he gained 314 yards and scored two touchdowns on the ground, but added a 63-425-2 line through the air. Fellow second-year pro Jordan Wilkins and newcomer D'Onta Foreman are also on hand to back…read more

Seen as third-down back
Coach Frank Reich said Hines is expected to handle third-down duties in 2019 while Marlon Mack serves as the team's lead back, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Analysis: Reich made his comments after Indy's recent minicamp, indicating that Hines was able to retain the third-down role he held as a rookie despite the Colts' addition of veteran Spencer Ware to the backfield. Along with his duties as a pass catcher, Hines will battle Ware, Jordan Wilkins and Jonathan Williams for carries behind Mack.

Limited snaps in wild-card win
Hines didn't register a carry or reception in Saturday's 21-7 wild-card win over Houston while playing just nine offensive snaps. The rookie didn't play much because Marlon Mack was playing well, Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni told Stephen Holder of The Athletic.
Analysis: Despite the lack of usage this past weekend, Hines has nowhere to go up in terms of workload after he previously recorded no fewer than four touches in any game this season. Still, it's clear Hines hasn't been as much of a factor in recent weeks, as he had just three rushing attempts and seven receptions over the final two games of the regular season.

Plunges into end zone
Hines rushed twice for two yards and a touchdown and added 41 yards on four catches during Sunday's 28-27 win over the Giants.
Analysis: The Colts were down by 14 points before Hines barreled into the end zone late in the second quarter. The rookie's role has become more defined down the stretch, but it's still one that limits his carries behind Marlon Mack. With the playoffs on the line, he'll take on a tough Titans defense in the regular-season finale. Tennessee limited Hines to 34 yards from scrimmage back in the two sides' Week 11 meeting.

Piles up 64 scrimmage yards
Hines carried six times for 19 yards and caught four passes for an additional 45 yards during Sunday's 23-0 win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: Hines was the only other back to carry the ball behind Marlon Mack, but he averaged just 3.2 yards per carry. He frequently lined up in the slot and on the outside, finishing second on the team in catches and receiving yardage. Hines is more of a change-of-pace option behind Mack, but his receiving chops give him some fantasy value in the right matchup. That said, he's no guarantee to produce next Sunday against the Giants.

Modest production in Sunday's win
Hines had three carries for one yard and three receptions for 16 yards on five targets in Sunday's win at Houston.
Analysis: Hines played 28 snaps on offense compared to 40 for Marlon Mack. As the top backup to Mack, Hines remains a steady option in in the passing game as his five targets were fifth on the team despite his modest yardage total.

Catches nine passes
Hines rushed for five yards on four carries and caught all nine of his targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: The Colts went with a pass-heavy approach with starting running back Marlon Mack (concussion) perhaps operating at less than 100 percent. Hines was the beneficiary of that game plan, finishing with 13 touches to Mack's nine. Hines could see increased involvement again if Indianapolis falls behind in Week 14 against a Texans team that comes in riding a nine-game winning streak. However, Mack's likely to be closer to full strength by then and should see a larger share of work out of the backfield.

Logs nine carries behind Mack
Hines was on the field for 26 of the Colts' 69 offensive snaps in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Dolphins, carrying nine times for 28 yards and catching both of his targets for 22 yards.
Analysis: While Hines' Week 12 numbers were nothing special, his fantasy outlook could be brighter ahead of next weekend's tilt with the Jaguars. PerMike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis, top back Marlon Mack isn't a lock to suit up against Jacksonville after sustaining a concussion Sunday that resulted in his removal from the contest. If Mack fails to pass the five-step protocol before the weekend, Hines and Jordan Wilkins would both presumably be in store for enhanced snap and touch counts.

Just 34 total yards Sunday
Hines had five carries for 14 yards and one reception for 20 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over Tennessee.
Analysis: Hines struggled a bit with a dropped pass and fumble (which the Colts recovered). Hines is still the No. 2 running back as he played 16 snaps on offense compared to 11 snaps for Jordan Wilkins and 38 for starter Marlon Mack.

Just 22 yards from scrimmage Sunday
Hines had three carries for three yards and three receptions for 19 yards on four targets in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Hines is Indy's pass-catching back, but he'd been productive on the ground the past two weeks with 125 yards rushing and a 7.8 YPC. However, the Colts struggled with the run Sunday as Marlon Mack averaged just 2.4 yards per carry. Hines played 20 snaps on offense as he's the clear No. 2 running back ahead of Jordan Wilkins, who played just five snaps on offense.
