Cut by Pats
Perry has been waived by the Patriots.
Analysis: Perry was claimed by the Pats off waivers in 2021 after he was dropped by the Dolphins. He was then ultimatley let go again and subsequently signed to the Saints' practice squad. Following the season, he ended up coming back to New England on a reserve/future contract. However, the journeyman will now have to again look for a new opportunity.

Signs deal with Patriots
The Patriots signed Perry to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
Analysis: Perry will join the Patriots for the 2022 season after being released by the team in November. The wide receiver hasn't appeared in the NFL since 2020, a season in which he caught nine passes for 92 yards and a score over nine games as a member of the Dolphins.

Cut from Saints' practice squad
Perry was cut from the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Perry joined the Saints' practice squad Nov. 23 but failed to make an appearance on the active roster before being cut Tuesday. The running back last played in the NFL in 2020, registering five yards on three rushes and nine catches for 92 yards and a touchdown over nine games with the Dolphins.

Joins New Orleans' practice squad
Perry (foot) signed with the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: New England recently waived Perry off injured reserve, but the wideout/running back is healthy again and quickly found a new organization. The Saints are expected to quickly promote the 2020 seventh-round pick to the active roster, though it's unclear if Perry will be elevated prior to Thursday's game against the Bills.

Let go from IR
The Patriots cut Perry (foot) from their injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: Perry was placed on the Patriots' injured reserve list early in September when he suffered a foot injury. The receiver was expected to fill a depth role at wide receiver for New England but instead will try to join a new team as soon as possible.

Lands on IR
Perry (foot) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Perry was ruled out for Sunday's season opener due to a foot injury, and he'll be forced to miss at least the first three weeks of the season following his placement on IR. The 2020 seventh-rounder was claimed off waivers from the Dolphins in early September and will serve as depth at wide receiver once he's healthy.

Officially out for Week 1
The Patriots listed Perry (foot) as out ahead of Sunday's season opener, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.
Analysis: As expected, Perry won't suit up Sunday after not practicing all week. The Patriots recently claimed Perry off waivers from the Dolphins, but his New England debut will have to be put on hold.

Heads to New England
The Patriots claimed Perry off waivers from the Dolphins on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Perry played quarterback in college for Navy, but he has primarily worked as a wide receiver/kick-return specialist during his time in the NFL. The move is interesting for New England, as it already had six wideouts on the initial 53-man roster, including a premier returner in Gunner Olszewski. The signing could make Perry the de facto emergency quarterback behind Mac Jones while Jarrett Stidham is sidelined with a back injury.

Scores first TD in finale
Perry turned his only target into a 25-yard touchdown during Week 17's 56-26 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Perry only played two offensive snaps during the Dolphins' season finale, but he made the most of his opportunities by connecting with Tua Tagovailoa for a TD pass with 2:47 remaining in the fourth quarter. Of course, by that point, the divisional tilt was well out of hand. The seventh-round selection appeared in nine contests as a rookie, during which span he secured nine of 13 targets for 92 yards and a score, primarily operating out of the slot when he did see the field. Perry also had three…read more

Gains four yards in win
Perry rushed once for four yards in Sunday's 22-12 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: With DeVante Parker (hamstring) and Jakeem Grant (hamstring) out of the lineup, Perry played 10 snaps on offense, working behind Lynn Bowden, Mack Hollins and Isaiah Ford. The Dolphins could roll with a similar setup in Week 16 against the Raiders, but the return of Parker or Grant could push Perry further out of the rotation.

One catch versus Chiefs
Perry caught one of two targets for five yards during Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Perry saw expanded opportunities versus the Chiefs, as both DeVante Parker (leg) and Mike Gesicki (shoulder) were forced off the field, but he still didn't contribute much on offense. Instead, Lynn Bowden and Mack Hollins both stepped up to lead Miami's passing attack.

Sheds injury tag
Perry (chest) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: Perry missed last weekend's win over the Bengals and was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he handled unrestricted reps during Friday's session. The rookie seventh-round pick handled a season-high 78 percent of offensive snaps back in Week 11, so he could play a large role against the Chiefs. Of course, Perry only has seven catches for 62 yards on the season, so he's only on the fantasy radar as a fringe candidate in deep formats.

Absent from practice
Perry (chest) isn't practicing Wednesday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Perry sat out Sunday's win over the Bengals due to a chest injury sustained Week 12. The wideout's absence from practice to begin Week 14 isn't a promising sign with regard to his chances of suiting up this weekend versus Chiefs, but he'll still have two more opportunities to increase his activity. If Perry sits out another contest, Antonio Callaway, Lynn Bowden and Mack Hollins could see increased opportunities on offense.

Won't play Sunday
Perry (chest) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Analysis: After exiting early in last week's win over the Jets with the chest injury, Perry failed to practice Wednesday before returning to work in a limited capacity Thursday and Friday. Ultimately, he didn't make enough progress for the Dolphins to sign off on him playing Week 13. With Perry out of the mix, Antonio Callaway and Mack Hollins could see more work alongside DeVante Parker and Jakeem Grant in three-wide sets. Rookie Lynn Bowden is the team's other active receiver, and he could also be an…read more

Draws questionable tag
Perry (chest) is officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Perry finished the week with back-to-back limited practices, a hint that he has a fair shot at suiting up versus Cincinnati. With Matt Breida (illness) on the COVID-19 list, and both Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and DeAndre Washington (hamstring) doubtful to play, it's conceivable that Perry could get a handful of backfield opportunities Week 13. It seems more likely, though, that the Dolphins bring Myles Gaskin (knee) off IR on Saturday.

Upgrades to limited practice
Perry (chest) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Perry couldn't practice in any capacity Wednesday, so his ability to get back on the field in at least a limited capacity represents tangible progress. If the rookie seventh-round pick can attain full clearance in time for Sunday's game against the Bengals, he'll likely handle Miami's No. 3 receiver role.

Can't practice Wednesday
Perry (chest) didn't practice Wednesday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Perry was forced out of last Sunday's win over the Jets due to the injury. If Perry can't go this weekend against the Bengals, Mack Hollins, Antonio Callaway and Lynn Bowden could all handle slightly increased roles.

Suffers chest injury
Perry exited Sunday's game against the Jets with a chest injury.
Analysis: The 23-year-old caught his lone target for eight yards during the first quarter before sustaining the injury. Mack Hollins could have an increased offensive role if Perry can't retake the field Sunday.

Targeted five times in loss
Perry caught three of five targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Rookie Tua Tagovailoa struggled in his fourth career start and was eventually benched in the fourth quarter. Before his departure, Perry was targeted just once, catching the pass for a three-yard gain. Ryan Fitzpatrick entered in Tagovailoa's place and targeted Perry on 22.2 percent of his throws, leading to a career high in receiving yards for the rookie. Perry finished the game with a season-high 78 percent snap share, too, so his opportunities could rise in the near future.

Minor involvement again
Perry had one carry for six yards during Sunday's 29-21 win over the Chargers. He also caught both of his targets for 21 yards.
Analysis: Perry has now had two straight games where he handled around 40 percent of offensive snaps, both of which came with Preston Williams (foot) out of the lineup. The rookie seventh-round pick will look to continue making the most out of his few opportunities.

Targeted once in win
Perry didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: In his second NFL game, Perry saw some extra reps because Preston Williams exited early with a foot injury. The rookie out of Navy didn't do much with his 23 snaps, though, and he'll likely revert to a depth role if Williams can play this week against the Chargers.

Inactive again Week 5
Perry (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Analysis: Perry avoided an injury designation for Week 5 after sitting out Thursday's practice with an illness, but he'll end up being a healthy scratch anyway. The 23-year-old has yet to suit up through five games this season.

Clear of illness
Perry (illness) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 23-year-old was held out of Thursday's practice due to an illness, but he returned as a full participant at Friday's session. Perry has been a healthy scratch for the first four games of the season, so he's unlikely to contribute Week 5 even though he's fully healthy.

Dealing with illness
Perry did not practice Thursday due to an illness, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Perry has been a healthy scratch for Miami through the first four games of the season, so he wouldn't be a likely candidate to contribute in San Francisco on Sunday even if he manages to shake his ailment. The rookie seventh-round pick could eventually contribute on special teams and as an option in the return game.

Healthy scratch Thursday
Perry (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Perry hasn't yet been active for a game this season. The rookie seventh-round pick may not be handed a path to make his NFL debut unless the Dolphins suffer injuries to the running back or wide receiver positions.

Won't play Sunday
Perry will be a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against Buffalo, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Perry didn't suit up in last week's loss to New England and won't play again in Week 2 in favor of rookie Lynn Bowden. Perry likely won't affect much from a fantasy perspective this season should he eventually make his NFL debut.

Comes off COVID-19 list
The Dolphins activated Perry from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
Analysis: Perry spent just four days on the reserve/COVID-19 list before returning to Dolphins' active roster, so his participation in training camp won't be delayed too significantly. The rookie seventh-round pick is working to carve out a depth role in a deceptively crowded backfield, with Kalen Ballage, Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird all also competing for reserve gigs.

Hits COVID-19 list
The Dolphins placed Perry (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Analysis: A seventh-round pick by the Dolphins in 2020, Perry is hoping to make his mark with the club during training camp. Unfortunately, his opportunity to do so will most likely be delayed by his placement on the list.

Inks deal with Miami
Perry has signed his rookie deal with the Dolphins and has been added to the depth chart as a running back, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Perry was taken by Miami in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He was a quarterback coming out of college, but it looks like the Dolphins intend on working him out of the backfield right away. The Navy product rushed for 2,017 yards during his senior campaign. Given his size (5-9, 186 pounds), he will presumably be used more as a gadget player for the team.
